When our customers have already developed a proprietary catalyst for a process and the manufacturing procedure already exists, then the task for Evonik is to produce the catalyst according to the customer’s requirements (Your Solutions = toll manufacturing). Customers who take advantage of this offer often have IP rights. But even if no IP protection exists, the production of these catalysts is on a strictly exclusive basis with no disclosure to the outside. In this part of our business, we deal with a much broader variety of catalysts and supports than you would find in our list of proprietary products.
