History

The site was founded 1871 as 'Royal Prussian Powder Factory' and taken over by Degussa in 1933. Since 1960 'old' Degussa centralized all R&D- and application technology departments in Hanau-Wolfgang. When 'new' Degussa emerged in 2001 the site changed from a single user site to an industrial park which is operated as Industrial Park Wolfgang. The site is the home of some Business and Service Units of Degussa and outside companies as well. The headquarter of the Business Unit EC moved to Hanau in 2005. Since decades it's the location of major R&D and production activities concerning Catalysts and Exclusive Synthesis.

Equipment

2 large scale productions plants and one small scale production plant all of type multi-purpose suitable for batch wise carrying out broad range of one and multi-step organic syntheses. All plants work in conformity with cGMP requirements (API production). Combination of technical configuration in the plants, experience of operating staff and very flexible operating permits provide application of new production jobs even short on notice.
