Management System
The Exclusive Synthesis & Catalysts Business Unit’s management system integrates all relevant sub-systems and includes the environmental, safety, occupational health, risk, and chemicals management systems. It is aligned with the requirements of the relevant standards (e.g., ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001:2004, OHSAS 18001:1999, ILO-OSH 2001 Guidelines, EMAS, EU Directive 91/356/EEC, ICH Guideline Q7A, ISO/TS 16949, HACCP concept, KonTraG (Law on Control and Transparency in Business)). In addition, it takes into account those requirements derived from voluntary commitments , such as the Responsible Care programs of associations to which the company belongs (e.g., ACC, VCI).
The continuous improvement process model shown below forms the basis of the management system, which implements the business unit’s policy and thus satisfies the requirements of all interested groups. The model illustrates the inputs and outputs along the value-added chain, especially with respect to the requirements of interested parties or groups. The result of the realization processes, their productivity, and the satisfaction of the interested parties are measured, analyzed, and evaluated through monitoring processes based on defined key figures .
From the results of the monitoring processes, the business unit’s management is, among other things, responsible for determining the need for action and for prescribing follow-up actions. These actions also influence productivity as well as the resource and realization processes. By proceeding systematically according to the cycle shown below, the Building Block business unit will ensure the continuous improvement (CIP) of its management system.
