History

Since 1911 Degussa Initiators produces at its Pullach site near Munich. The company is an innovative manufacturer of speciality chemicals which are used for many industrial applications.

Degussa Initiators is a subsidiary of Degussa GmbH, one of ther world´s largest producers of speciality chemicals. Within Degussa, the company belongs to the business unit Exclusive Synthesis & Catalysts.

Degussa Initiators and its affiliated companies belongs to the group of globally positioned organic peroxide suppliers and is well-known in the market as the preferred partner on organic peroxide based solutions for the polymer industry. With its world-wide persulfate business Degussa Initiator is also consistently aligned to the polymer, health and textile care industry meeting customer requirements in all regions by an integrated service, manufacturing and supply concept.

Both product types are mainly used for the production of thermoplastics, in polyester resin curing processes and as crosslinking agents for elastomers. Degussa Initiators' Organic peroxides and persulfates help to produce more than 5 million tons of plastics per year.

Moreover, the company is engaged in the research, development and marketing of new products based on active oxygen technology, for example special active oxidants or certain organic intermediates.
